Sizzling Stocks Update: Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR)

On Monday, Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR), with shares surged 1.51% is now trading at $17.42. The Stock is active as 4.89M shares changed hands versus its average volume of 16.61M shares.

During the current trading session, the company’s minimum price was $17.19, while it touched its highest price for the day at $17.47. TWTR’s beta value stands at 1.14 points.

The 52-week range for the stock is $13.73 and $25.25. The company has a total market capitalization of $12.52 Billion and its total outstanding shares are 714.90 Million.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average declined on Monday, retreating from the historic 20,000 mark, weighed down by banks and energy companies, while a gain in technology stocks kept the Nasdaq afloat.

Of its 30 components, 20 of the Dow’s stocks were trading lower, led by Goldman Sachs’s (GS.N) 1.4 percent decline. P&G (PG.N) fell 0.9 percent and Coca-Cola (KO.N) dropped 0.5 percent after Goldman downgraded both the consumer staple stocks.

Eight of the 11 major S&P sectors were lower, led by the energy sector’s .SPNY 1.3 percent drop. Oil prices fell 2.3 percent as signs of growing U.S. output outweighed optimism that other producers were sticking to a deal to cut supply to bolster prices.

According to Independent Online, Twitter suspended the account of Martin Shkreli after the brash former pharmaceutical executive harassed a female reporter online, the latest high-profile case of abuse on the social media service.

Over the past few days, freelance reporter Lauren Duca posted about several unwanted digital advances by Shkreli, the former chief executive officer of Turing Pharmaceuticals, including a message in which Shkreli invited her to the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump. Unbowed, Shkreli proceeded to post about Duca publicly, prompting her to ask Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey to intervene on Sunday.

“The Twitter Rules prohibit targeted harassment, and we will take action on accounts violating those policies,” a Twitter spokesman said in a statement Sunday. The rules allow Shkreli to appeal his suspension, but he would have to make changes to his account before being reinstated. Shkreli declined to comment via e-mail.

For investors focus on the performance of the stocks so the TWTR showed weekly ahead performance of 4.76% which was maintained for the month at – 5.81%. Correspondingly the negative performance for the quarter was remained -13.59% and if took notice on yearly performance that was -15.25% whereas the year to date performance halted at 5.34%.
